When selecting the size of your ceiling medallion, you should consider three factors. You should first consider the size of the fan or fixture. Medallions should be smaller or larger than the diameter of your ceiling fan or lighting fixture--they should not be the same size.
You should also think about the height of the ceiling. Higher ceilings can accommodate larger medallions, and medallions that are 28-inches or larger can complement two-story foyers.
